WIPE OUT THIRST:
One Student's Mission to Bring Clean Water to Communities in Need

WIPE OUT THIRST (W.O.T.) is an initiative by Armaan Sultan, a Grade 11 student at Raffles World Academy, Dubai. After witnessing the challenges faced by communities without access to clean drinking water during a school trip to Kenya, Armaan launched W.O.T. to raise awareness and funds through the sale of t-shirts. All proceeds support organizations that provide sustainable water solutions to communities in need. With a vision to transform lives, one community at a time, W.O.T. is committed to making a lasting impact on global water scarcity.

My name is Armaan Sultan, and I am a Grade 11 student at Raffles World Academy, Dubai.
During a school trip to Kenya in January 2023, I witnessed the profound challenges faced by communities lacking basic necessities such as clean drinking water and electricity. This experience deeply impacted me, opening my eyes to the harsh realities endured by countless people—not only in Africa but around the world—who struggle to survive due to the scarcity of clean water.
This realization was a turning point in my life. It inspired me to commit myself to a cause I passionately call WIPE OUT THIRST (W.O.T.). My mission with the W.O.T. campaign is to raise awareness and funds by selling t-shirts, with all proceeds directed to organizations that provide sustainable water sources across communities who need it.
During a recent trip to Pakistan, I saw the critical shortage of clean drinking water firsthand. Visiting schools and water wells supported by my family, I witnessed how access to clean water transforms lives, empowering communities to thrive. As of last month, one well has been successfully completed, and two more are on track to be completed by February 2025.
The UAE—a nation that embraces people from all backgrounds and fosters opportunities to pursue meaningful goals—provides the ideal platform to launch and grow this initiative. Its culture of generosity and commitment to global causes aligns perfectly with my vision to ensure clean drinking water for those in need.
I am determined to make a difference, one community at a time.
